You can quickly filter your candidates list using a range of different attributes. This article will describe the most common filters to help you manage your candidates
- New candidates and those requiring action
- Hiring Stage
- Pre-screen questions, Salary or Location
- Tags and Favourites
- Seek candidates that have not completed their Compono profile
New candidates and those requiring action
It is often useful to see all new candidates in the list. A new candidate is one that you have not yet clicked on, i.e., you have not previously looked at. All new candidates will have a green dot icon next to their name, but you can also use the Candidate selector to show only the New candidates.
Another very useful option in the Candidate selector is the Action pending filter. A suggested "best practice" when managing new candidates is to either move the candidate to a new hiring stage (e.g. shortlist or unsuccessful), or to message the candidate. Any candidate that has not been moved or has not been sent a message will be visible when selecting Action pending. Essentially, this is a candidate that you may or may not have clicked on, but you have yet to do anything to progress or reject this candidate.
Hiring Stage
To filter candidates by hiring stage, simply click on one of the stages in the hiring pipeline above the candidate list.
Pre-screen questions, Salary or Location
Another helpful filter shows only those candidates that have matched to your Pre-screen questions, Salary or Location criteria.
This is why we recommend that pre-screening questions should be designed to help you immediately identify candidates who do not meet a base requirement for your job. If any candidate provides an undesired response, they will not match to your pre-screen questions, and you can immediately filter them out of your candidate list. A typical pre-screening question would be "Do you have full working rights in (the location of the job being advertised)?"
To filter candidates by Pre-screen questions, Salary or Location:
- Click on the Filter Candidates dropdown menu
- Select the matched criteria you wish to keep in your candidate list
Tags and Favourites
If you have marked any candidates as favourites, or assigned any tags, you can use the same Filter Candidates dropdown menu (see above animated gif) to filter candidates based on the whether they have a tag or favourite assigned or not assigned.
Seek candidates that have not completed their Compono profile
If you have posted a job to Seek, applicants can use the Seek "quick apply" to submit their application with some basic personal information and their CV. These Seek applicants are immediately sent an automated follow up email asking them to continue their application in Compono and to complete their profile.
If a Seek candidate does not continue their application in Compono, they will show up in your candidate list with an incomplete profile. You can quickly view these candidates using the Filter Candidates drop down menu and selecting "Profile incomplete". You can then bulk message (e.g. with a template) these candidates and ask them to complete their profile using the link in the follow up email they should have received.
