Uploading a SCORM package to a course

SCORM, which stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is a collection of standards and specifications for e-Learning products. A SCORM package defines the communication between client-side content and a host system, commonly supported by an LMS such as Clui.

In Clui, courses are structured using various modules and 'Scorm Course' is one of the available module types. Follow these steps to upload a SCORM package to Clui as a module:

1. Complete the usual steps to create a course.
2. Ensure the SCORM file is available in .zip format. For more information about creating your e-learning course in the correct format, see https://scorm.com/scorm-explained/technical-scorm/golf-examples/.
3. Click Add Module and select the Scorm Course module type. 
4. Enter the module title, then click Select a File.
5. Navigate to the location of the SCORM .zip file and click Open.
6. Configure the learner outcome for the course. For more information, see 'Setting SCORM outcome options' below.
7. Click Submit.

Setting SCORM outcome options

When you create a SCORM module, you can decide:

• What happens when a learner fails the module
  
  • Prevent the user from continuing - Learners must re-do the module until they pass.
  • Allow user to continue to next module - Learners do not need to pass the module to continue.
  • Lock for a period of time - Learners are unable to re-do the module for a period of time. You can set the lock-out period for a number of days, hours, or minutes.
  • Reset user to new position in course - Learners must continue from a set module within the current course (this cannot be part way through the SCORM course).  
• Whether the course can be passed overall if the SCORM module is failed (using the toggle)
  • Toggle off - The learner cannot pass the course if the module is failed.
  • Toggle on - The learner can pass the course even if the module failed.

Managing advanced SCORM module settings

After uploading a SCORM package to a course, you have the option to manage advanced SCORM Cloud settings which have been exposed in Clui. We recommend you only make changes to the default settings if you have experience using SCORM Cloud.
