If you're selected to approve the course progress of learners or perform in-person assessments, you'll be notified by email. You can also check for outstanding approvals and assessments at any time.
Note: To perform approvals or assessments, your access level must include the permission to perform approvals and see users in your learning space.
Follow these steps:
- Access the Home page of your learning space by clicking Home in the header menu.
- Change to the MY TRAINING tab.
- Check for outstanding approvals or assessments in the My approvals and assessments section.
- Click a request in the list to be redirected to the related Enrolment Insight page.
- Perform the approval or in-person assessment as required by clicking the Actions button next to the relevant module.

If you're required to perform someone else's approvals or in-person assessments, refer to 'Performing approvals or assessments on behalf of another user'.
Performing approvals
To approve the course progress of a learner, click the Actions button next to the Approval module on the learner's Enrolment Insight page, then click Approve or Reject accordingly.
If you are required to verify documents uploaded by the learner, click the Download all files button above the course content to download the files so that you can review them before performing the approval.
If you are rejecting the progress of a learner, you can provide a reason for the rejection which the learner and other approvers (if applicable) will be notified of. The reason will also be recorded on the module for future reference.
Performing assessments
To perform an in-person assessment, click the Actions button next to the Assessment module on the learner's Enrolment Insight page, then click Perform assessment. Go through the assessment with the learner before marking them as Competent or Not yet competent according to your assessment.
The assessment will be saved against the learner's enrolment history for the course on the ASSESSMENTS tab.
If you're unable to complete the full assessment at one time, you can close the assessment at any time and, assuming your internet connection is stable, the progress will be saved so that you can resume the assessment at a later time.
Performing approvals or assessments on behalf of another user
If a learner submits an approval but doesn't have an assigned approver, an email is sent to the learning space owner and your learning space's support email address to notify them. Approvers may not exist in the case of a learner belonging to a group where no member has a group access level that includes the permission to perform approvals.
If required, you can perform approvals or in-person assessments on behalf of other users even though these tasks won't be visible to you on your learning space Home page. To do so, you need:
- An access level that includes the ability to perform approvals and see users in your learning space.
- A list of approvals or assessments you need to perform on behalf of another user (i.e the names of learners and the relevant courses).
To perform the approvals or assessments, access the relevant Enrolment Insight pages and click the Actions button next to the Approval or Assessment module to complete the task, as described above.
