We are excited to announce a series of updates designed to make your hiring workflow more intuitive. These changes focus on:
refining our user roles to better reflect how your team actually works, and
simplifying our navigation menu to help you find what you need faster.
Updated User Roles
To better align with industry standards and your team’s internal structures, we’ve updated our role names. These changes will be applied automatically based on existing permissions. No manual migration is required.
Admin/Owner: No change.
Recruitment Manager: Formerly "Standard."
Hiring Manager: A brand-new role specifically for team leads and department heads.
Reviewer: Formerly "Read-only."
Key Update for the Reviewer Role: The Reviewer role is now more focused on active feedback rather than passive observation. To protect candidate privacy while empowering the reviewer, we've made the following adjustments:
Notes: Reviewers can now only see notes they have personally added, rather than the full history.
Actions: Reviewers now have the ability to tag candidates and move candidates to the shortlist.
Role |
Core Purpose |
Admin/Owner |
Full Access. The highest-level role responsible for system-wide settings, job board integrations, and global templates. |
Recruitment Manager |
Recruitment process owner. Focuses on recruitment efficiency, speed, and keeping the candidate pipeline moving smoothly. |
Hiring Manager |
Team expert. Usually a department head, lead or manager. They aren't HR experts; they focus on finding a peer who adds value and shares team culture. |
Reviewer |
Individual contributor. Typically a peer or stakeholder. Their goal is to evaluate candidate quality and provide specific feedback on skills and fit. |
For more detail about each permission, see the Roles Permissions page accessible from the Users page (under the People dropdown menu from the side navigation bar).
Navigation Enhancements
We’ve reorganised the sidebar to group related tasks more logically:
New 'People' Menu: This is your new hub for organisational data. It contains Users, Groups, and Organisation structure (including Divisions, Job Titles, Job Levels, and Locations).
Hire Menu Update: 'Hiring Teams' has been moved under the Hire section for better context.
Settings: The 'Admin' menu has been renamed to Settings to better reflect its purpose as the control centre for your account configuration.
