Interview Guide Details
The guide name, division, job title, interview purpose, and "When to Use" context are displayed at the top of the editor. All fields are editable.
Pre-Interview Guidance Checklist
A preparation checklist that interviewers work through before the interview begins. To edit: click the pencil icon on any item to update the text, drag the grip handle to reorder, and click "+ add item" to add new items.
Key Competencies
A list of the competencies being assessed in this interview. These are auto-generated based on your wizard inputs, or you can add and edit them manually. Each competency can include an optional note to give interviewers additional context (for example, noting that a competency is observed through behaviour rather than a direct question).
Interview Questions
The core of your guide. Each question card includes everything an interviewer needs to assess a candidate consistently and fairly.
Question text
1-5 Scoring Guide with descriptors for each level, so interviewers know exactly what a strong or weak answer looks like
Focus area tag showing which key candidate selection criteria the question targets
Lock/Unlock toggle to prevent hiring managers from editing specific questions during the collaborative review stage
Add to question bank to add the question to the shared Question Bank for future use across your organisation
AI Modify for refining or regenerating question text and scoring guides
Remove to delete the question from the guide
Locking a question
Admins, Owners, and Recruitment Managers can lock any question to protect it from being edited by hiring managers during the collaborative review stage. Locked questions can still be reordered, but their content cannot be changed. This is useful for ensuring compliance questions or legally sensitive content stays exactly as written.
Save to Bank
Any user with edit access to the guide can save a question to the shared Question Bank, making it available for use in future guides across your organisation. When saving, you can categorise the question by topic, division, or job title so it is easy to find later. Once saved, the question card is tagged "Saved to bank".
AI Modify
Already have a question but want to refine it? Compono Assist lets you modify any question using quick action chips.
Changes are previewed before being applied, so you are always in control of the final output. If you prefer, you can also edit the question text and scoring guide manually without using AI.
Options for adding a new question
Need to add a question that was not generated? Use the "+ Add Questions" menu available in the footer.
Add a new individual question
To add a new individual question, select ‘+ Add Question'. From here you have the option to use AI to help create the question. Provide the context and the expected repsonse format and click 'Generate Draft’.
Add a new question from the Question Bank
Browse your shared library to add one or more existing questions to the guide. Filter by topic, division, and job title to find what you need quickly.
Generate from Position Description
Already have a guide but want to add more questions? Paste or upload a position description and generate additional questions at any time, without starting over.
Organisation Fit Assessment Suggestions Toggle
When enabled, this activates AI powered question suggestions during the interview itself (candidate specific questions).
These suggestions are based on the candidate's organisational fit assessment results, helping interviewers probe the areas where there are gaps between the candidate's profile and the job ad criteria. See the scoring candidates section for more detail on how this works in practice.
