What you need to know to apply for a job
Welcome to Compono! You are here because the employer for the job you are applying for has chosen Compono as their technology partner to help them understand you better, in terms of your background and skills, but also what environment and roles you’d thrive in.
However, Compono is as much for you as it is for the employer. We understand that applying for a job can be quite stressful so we are here to help you find the job that’s right for you. To this end, Compono uses a matching algorithm to help find the roles that suit you best.
So rather than completing your profile based on what you think the employer would want you to answer, consider what you want out of a job. Ultimately, you want to find a job that suits your needs and requirements as well as the employer. The Compono matching algorithm is only as good as the information you provide, so the more information you can provide, the better the matching works.
How to apply for your job
There are 3 steps to applying for a job using Compono for the first time:

- Click on the Sign Up tab, enter your email address and create a strong password. Then click Sign Up.
- You will then need to verify your email address that you used to sign up. Be sure to check your SPAM/Junk folder for the verification email, and click on the Verify email button.
- Fill in your personal details
- Once complete, click Save.
2. Complete your application and Compono profile
After completing your personal details, you will be directed to your Active Applications page.
- Click on Apply now to start your job application in Compono.
- Review the mandatory "You and your role requirements" section.
- Check your personal information under About You and edit any information if necessary
- Honestly answer the Prerequisites questions (if there are any).
The next part of your application involves creating your Compono Profile. We recommend that you complete your profile with as much detail as possible:
- Complete your preferred work setting: This lets the employer know more about your preferred work motivations, work environment and your approach to work.
- Complete your work background: This lets the employer know your skills and qualifications.
- Complete your supporting documentation: Add any general documents or links to professional sites that you wish to support your profile. This is where you can also add any documents specific to your job application such as a cover letter.
What is your Compono profile? Think of your Compono profile as a living document which you can review and edit at any time. Employers will always see the most recent version so we recommend that you keep it up to date. Simply log in to your account to make any updates. Any subsequent applications through Compono will be much faster to complete as job application information is sourced directly from your profile.
3. Submit your application
Once you have finished your application and Compono profile, click the Submit button (located at the top and bottom of the application page). This will send your completed application to the employer and you will receive a confirmation email that your application has been submitted.
If you have missed any sections, Compono will warn you before you submit. In the case that the job requires some prerequisite questions, you won’t be able to submit the application unless this is completed.
